Elizabeth Janis - finding a bomb during wartime
Hear and Now is bringing young and old people together to find, explore and broadcast oral histories at events, festivals, heritage sites, libraries, schools, care homes and community centres in a wide variety of ways.
All stories are being uploaded on our soundcloud page link: soundcloud.com/soundcommunities-cic/sets/hear-and-now
Listening pods will be set up in the three main libraries across Torbay at the end of the project.
The key aims for Hear & Now are to:
- Connect generations and increase understanding between young and old
- Help all generations to learn and celebrate local heritage through oral history
- Enable older people in Torbay to learn to use digital technology to connect with peers and family
We are working in partnership with Torbay Libraries, Torbay Community Development Trust, Torquay Museum, Brixham Museum, local primary schools, community centres, International Agatha Christie Festival, Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust.
This work is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Ageing Well Torbay, Big Lottery Fund, Devon Community Foundation and Torbay Council.
