Ocean Youth
A youth-led radio station bringing young people across Torbay together
Ocean Youth Radio was created in 2012 with the aim of getting youth voices heard in and around Torbay.
12 years later, Ocean Youth is on DAB across torbay, with record numbers of listeners, broadcasting live at our Ocean Youth Studio, bringing more young people together than ever.
Our studio is currently based in Paignton but Ocean Youth continues to reach far and wide, broadcasting from all around the bay.
Ocean Youth is recognised nationally and has won and been nominated for awards such as ‘Community Station of the Year’ ‘Achievement Within the Community’ from Young Audio Awards, UK ARIAS, Community Radio Awards and more!
Ocean Youth broadcasts with Sound Communities’s Boom Bus at community events including the English Riviera Airshow, Devon County Show and around Paignton Carnival.

It's quite outstanding what Ocean Youth Radio has achieved – specifically targeting Children and Young People. There is a clear, transformative effect and I believe this station could well serve to be a best practice model for engaging CYP in certain areas across the UK to develop skills. This is incredibly valuable work and brilliant platforms to further reach CYP. Well done to all the team involved, you've got my vote!
